Microsoft SharePoint news for email now supports custom template tab settings and wider posts

SharePoint News for Email is revolutionizing the way news is shared amongst teams. This feature enables authors to convert SharePoint News posts into distributions for Microsoft Outlook for Windows email inboxes, allowing users to engage directly from their inboxes and track mail reads. Rolling out from mid-January to mid-February 2024, SharePoint News posts may appear wider when opened in Outlook for Windows, enabling a more legible and comprehensive view of the content.

Additionally, saved custom templates can now appear before built-in templates within the News template picker. To take advantage of this feature, site admins can set a custom template as their site default, and the Saved on this site tab will open first in the News template picker.

These updates are designed to streamline the process of creating and distributing news content, making it more efficient and accessible to users.
