Microsoft Teams: Auto detection of room audio in BYOD rooms expanded to audio devices with video
Microsoft Teams has expanded its room audio auto-detection feature for bring-your-own-device (BYOD) rooms to include audio devices that have a video component. This feature was initially released in October 2024, activating the selected camera in Teams. The feature allows composite audio-video peripherals to be automatically detected and pre-selected, making it easier to join and start meetings. The update is now generally available in the desktop and cloud instances of Microsoft Teams worldwide.
To take advantage of this feature, users need to make sure their audio and video devices are connected properly before joining a meeting.
