Microsoft Teams: Room audio auto-detect and pre-select in BYOD meeting rooms
Microsoft Teams is introducing new functionality to simplify the user experience for bring your own device (BYOD) meeting rooms. The new feature will automatically detect the room's audio and make recommendations on the pre-join screen whenever a user connects their laptop to the room's shared peripheral through USB, streamlining the meeting room experience.
For devices recognized by Microsoft as shared BYOD devices, such as displays and audio devices, the user will be automatically connected to the room's audio upon connection, without any need for manual selection. This feature will be available on desktop platforms and will be targeted for release in October 2024.
This update will be beneficial for those using BYOD meeting rooms, as it will simplify the audio selection process and prevent any disruptions that may occur due to connection errors. With this feature, users can now seamlessly connect their laptops to a meeting room's shared device with ease.
