Microsoft Teams Panels Update

Teams Panels, the meeting room reservation feature of Microsoft Teams, is set to receive a new update. This update will allow the users to book rooms by scanning QR codes through their Android or iOS mobile phones. Teams Panels will now have a QR code visible in the top left of the home screen which can be accessed to schedule a new meeting or view room availability, after scanning with the mobile phone. The feature is expected to roll out through a gradual process starting from early August and will be completed by early September.
However, it should be noted that this feature is currently unavailable for external tenants and will come enabled by default. Users will need to make sure that their Teams Panels and Teams app on mobile phones are up to date to access the feature. Users can choose to disable this feature if they wish to. Reserving a room will be as simple as scanning the QR code, selecting the preferred option, and filling out meeting details if necessary.
If you rely heavily on Teams Panels, keep an eye out for this update, and be sure to prepare by staying up to date with your Teams app versions.
