Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (Premium): Enhancements for Teams meeting recordings

In early April, Microsoft will begin rolling out enhancements to Teams meeting recording and video files stored in OneDrive and SharePoint to make their management within eDiscovery workflows more seamless. These improvements will enable collection and review of metadata associated with Teams meeting recordings and video files including transcripts/captions, chapters, and custom thumbnails. These enhancements will be available to eDiscovery (Premium) in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.

If your organization uses Teams meeting recordings and video files stored in OneDrive and SharePoint, it's important to assess whether these changes will impact your eDiscovery workflow and update internal documentation and provide user training as needed. With these enhancements, conducting an eDiscovery investigation of content in Microsoft Teams will become easier and more efficient.
