Microsoft Edge: Switch from Microsoft Autoupdate to EdgeUpdater for macOS

Microsoft Edge: Switch from Microsoft Autoupdate to EdgeUpdater for macOS

Microsoft Edge for macOS is rolling out a new updater called EdgeUpdater. This will only affect the macOS version of Microsoft Edge. Users who have previously used update preferences for Microsoft Autoupdate to prevent browser updates will need to transition to the new EdgeUpdater UpdateDefault policy before Microsoft Edge 113 if they want to continue preventing automatic updates. This change is set to take effect in May of 2023.

For anyone using Microsoft Edge on macOS, this change may impact your ability to prevent automatic updates, so it's important to be aware of the upcoming update and make any necessary adjustments prior to May CY2023, which is when Microsoft Edge 113 is set to launch.

If you're responsible for managing Microsoft Edge updates on macOS devices, be sure to switch to the new EdgeUpdater to continue receiving updates seamlessly.
