Microsoft 365 app: Auto release and check-in for Microsoft Places

Microsoft is releasing new check-in options for Microsoft Teams and Places to enable users to check in via Teams Chat and email. These new options will be available mid-November 2024, with existing check-in methods still in place. The upgrade does not require any admin action before rolling out and it is set to be on by default without affecting current features. The new roll-out means that users can check in through Teams Chat and email for all enabled rooms, as well as through Teams Panels and Microsoft Teams Rooms. Any rooms that had auto-release and check-in enabled through Teams panels will automatically receive these additional check-in options. This post was originally published on M365 Admin.
