Microsoft Viva : Connections Boosted News Notifications

Microsoft Viva Connections is set to receive a major update in the form of boosted news notifications to end-users. This feature will allow communicators to target important company news and communications directly to users, improving the overall experience of Viva Connections. This update is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 174470 and will be rolled out in stages, starting from late November 2023 for targeted release and mid-December for standard release.

With this update, end-users will receive notifications for boosted news as long as the news has an explicit audience target specified and is posted to the organization's news site. Other notification behavior will remain the same as in existing news notifications. The update will roll out automatically, and no additional action is required on the part of the users. However, communicators within the organization should take note of the notification conditions mentioned to better reach their end-users.
