Microsoft Teams: Files App Updating to OneDrive App Experience in Teams
Microsoft Teams is upgrading its Files app to the latest OneDrive app experience to provide improved performance, additional views, and access to new features of OneDrive for both classic and new Teams. The upgrade will not remove any existing features of the current Files app and will be available in both desktop and mobile Teams. The change will be introduced in mid to late November 2023 for Targeted Release and late November to mid-December 2023 for the Standard Release.
As part of the transition, Files app on the left side of the new Teams desktop client will become OneDrive app without any change in the name of Files app in either classic Teams desktop client or Teams mobile client. Users using Teams desktops will receive a one-time notification to introduce the upgraded version of the Files app to OneDrive app.
