OneDrive Open in App availablility
Microsoft Office files in OneDrive can now be opened in their respective desktop applications and edited with changes automatically syncing back to OneDrive. This functionality will begin rolling out in mid-November 2023 for targeted release users and early December 2023 for standard release users, with the rollout expected to complete by late January 2024. Keep in mind that complex files that depend on other files may encounter unexpected behavior, in which case syncing the containing folder using Add shortcut is recommended. Overall, this is a significant improvement to the OneDrive experience and may require updates to your training and documentation as appropriate.
