Microsoft SharePoint: New content pane for Pages and News
Microsoft SharePoint is rolling out a new content pane for Pages and News that offers a centralized space with a user-friendly toolbox to support authors in crafting their publications. The content pane includes features such as distribution channel selection and audience selection and is set to begin rolling out in July 2024, with no admin action required for the update. Users will have access to three icons on the right side of the screen for Toolbox, Properties, and Design ideas. The toolbox offers essential tools for page creation and includes three content categories: web parts, media, and section templates. The content pane is on by default and will be accessible to all SharePoint authors. The preexisting Properties pane is now also in the content pane. This new update is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 124827 and is set to enhance author's experiences while crafting pages and news.
