Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Audit – New Exchange and SharePoint Logs for Microsoft Purview Audit Standard Users
Microsoft Purview has announced new updates to its cloud security functionalities for Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint. As part of this, standard users of Purview Audit will now have access to four new Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint events previously limited to Audit Premium licensed users. These include MailItemsAccessed, Send, SearchQueryInitiatedExchange, and SearchQueryInitiatedSharepoint. The update will bring additional metadata to Exchange logs when users are assigned an Audit Premium license, such as SensitivityLabel for MailItemsAccessed. These changes will take effect in the Preview phase starting from February 2024, with a release date set for June of the same year. This update will be available on the web and across cloud instances of GCC, GCC High, and DoD.
