Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Configure labels independently on files and emails (U.S. Government clouds)
Microsoft has introduced a new feature that allows admins to apply labels independently to emails or files. The label policy can be configured to apply to either emails only, files only, or both, through the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. This latest update offers greater flexibility to admins looking to implement label policies while ensuring compliance with regulations. This feature is currently available for U.S. Government clouds, with a release date scheduled for July CY2023. As part of the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the feature ID for this update is 124889.
