Microsoft Purview compliance portal | Communication Compliance: Notify users about hidden content matches

The Microsoft Purview compliance portal is introducing a new feature that will notify users about compliance policy matches triggered by hidden content. With the rollout scheduled for late October 2024 and full availability by early December of that year, this feature aims to improve investigations' transparency and efficiency. The notification banner will alert investigators of some or all policy matches that are not immediately visible in the main content, possibly saving time and ensuring a better triage experience. The feature will be available by default with no admin action required before the rollout. It will be a notification banner designed to enhance transparency while alerting users when keywords embedded in the hidden text trigger a compliance policy match. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 417483.

Users and investigators were not notified if policy matches occur for hidden content before this rollout. After it, they will be notified if any policy matches in a message are concealed and not readily discernible in the main content. This feature is ready by default, and no admin action is required before the rollout.

The Microsoft Purview compliance portal will begin rolling out late October 2024 and expects to complete by early November 2024 for the Public Preview. It will begin mid-November 2024 and expects to complete by early December 2024 for the General Availability (Worldwide).
