Microsoft Teams: The new streamlined Chat and Channels experience

Microsoft Teams has just launched an update that streamlines the chat and channels experience, making it easier for users to manage conversations across different locations. The update is expected to roll out between mid-November 2024 and late April 2025, with no admin action required.
Users will be able to customize their chat and channels view to keep up with messages scattered across different locations, and triage messages quickly. The update will bring together chat, teams, and channels in one place, so users can navigate between all conversations without switching between contexts. Users can opt to keep chat separate from teams, and custom sections of chats and channels are also possible. This message applies to Teams on Windows desktops, Mac desktops, the web, and iOS and Android devices, but excludes Education tenants.
For more information on the update and its rollout, users can visit the Microsoft 365 Blog and the Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 415249. This update aims to address the need for users to keep pace with work and streamline conversations and management, allowing them to stay on top of what matters most.
