Microsoft Purview | Data Loss Prevention: Copying rules
Microsoft Purview now offers a new feature that allows Data Loss Prevention (DLP) admins to copy and edit existing rules, instead of creating new ones from scratch. This feature will be available for Public Preview from early April 2024 and for General Availability from early May 2024. To copy a rule, admins only need to click on the new "Copy" icon located next to the "Edit" icon on the "Customize advanced DLP rules" page. This will open a new "Create rule" page that will be pre-filled with data from the copied rule. Admins can edit the name and save the new rule. This feature will make it easier for admins to modify and replicate important DLP rules. This update corresponds to Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 384872. The rollout is expected to be completed by late May 2024. No admin action is required for this update.
Ensure that you take advantage of this new feature, by following the simple steps outlined above, which can help reduce the time spent on creating and editing rules.
