Outlook on the web – Update locations to message compose options

Outlook on the Web is set to roll out an update that relocates some message-compose options for a better user experience. The formatting bar, Send and Discard buttons will now be located at the top of the message compose window, similar to the ribbon in other Microsoft apps. For users with the "newest on top" option, the Send, Discard, and formatting bar will be located at the top of the compose window when replying to a message, as opposed to the previous location at the bottom of the compose window. These changes will provide a consistent experience across web and both classic and new Outlook for Windows, and will be implemented in mid-September for Targeted Release and late-September to mid-October for Standard Release. These changes do not affect the shortcut to send an email message. There is nothing for users to prepare, but documentation and help desk materials might need to be updated to reflect these changes.
