Microsoft 365 admin center will support continuous access evaluation (CAE)

Microsoft 365 admin center will support continuous access evaluation (CAE)

The Microsoft 365 admin center will soon introduce continuous access evaluation (CAE) as a new feature in September 2024. This feature will provide near real-time updates on session termination or reauthentication, enabling efficient enforcement of policy changes without waiting for token expiration. The rollout will not require any admin action and offers benefits like mitigating insider threats, preventing unauthorized access, and swiftly removing user access. CAE continuously evaluates changes in critical events and network location for users, allowing instant revocation of access instead of waiting for the access token to expire. This feature is beneficial for enforcing IP location policies and monitoring user-critical events, aiding your organization in mitigating insider and data exfiltration threats.

To prepare for the rollout, you do not need to take any admin action as the rollout will happen automatically by the specified date. However, notifying your admins about this change and updating relevant documentation might be useful. Learn more about continuous access evaluation in Microsoft Entra through the provided link.
