What's new in Azure VMware Solution - October 2022
I’m thrilled to be writing to you today from Microsoft Ignite in Seattle, where my team and I will be presenting and meeting with customers and partners both in person and online!
Today I am excited to share some of the recent updates we’ve made to Azure VMware Solution.
Customer Managed Keys, now in preview, gives customers maximum control over their encrypted vSAN data on Azure VMware Solution. With this feature, customers use Azure Key Vault to generate customer managed keys, and to centralize and streamline the key management process, including:
- Revoking access anytime and protecting customer’s data from within their private cloud.
- Rotating encryption key in Azure Key Vault per the customer’s compliance policies.
- Full integration with Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics for complete audit logs and alerts. Learn more
Stretched Clusters for Azure VMware Solution, now in preview, provide 99.99% uptime for mission critical applications that require the highest availability. In times of Availability Zone (AZ) failure, customers’ virtual machines (VMs) and applications automatically failover to an unaffected AZ with no application impact. Stretched cluster benefits:
- Improve application availability.
- Provide a zero recovery point objective (RPO) capability for enterprise applications without needing to redesign them, or deploy expensive disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
- A private cloud with stretched clusters is designed to provide 99.99% availability due to its resilience to AZ failures.
- Enable customers to focus on core application requirements and features, instead of infrastructure availability. Learn more.
