Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps’ Shadow IT Discovery Capabilities Now Support MacOS
Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps has released new enhanced capabilities to its app security solutions. The new app discovery feature offers comprehensive visibility into all SaaS apps used in an organization, including AI apps. This visibility is beneficial in providing IT departments with a holistic view of their SaaS landscape, leading to effective management of SaaS security risks. The new discovery capabilities allow for the identification of all SaaS apps used by employees, regardless of the device's operating system. The enhancement is compatible with macOS devices, enabling the discovery of shadow IT SaaS apps on macOS devices. Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps also added two new capabilities to their Defender for Cloud Apps log collector, which operates on popular container runtimes such as Podman and AKS. The enhanced capabilities contribute to delivering a more streamlined and easier to deployable XDR platform that enables security teams to more efficiently protect organizations from today's advanced cyber threats.
