Opportunity to roll back Teams Live Events to temporarily enable Attendee Guest Web join

Opportunity to roll back Teams Live Events to temporarily enable Attendee Guest Web join

If you utilize Microsoft Teams Live Events for your organization, then you may be interested in a recent update that was rolled out. This update disabled the ability for guest users to join as attendees on the web, a change that was implemented to improve the attendee experience and support the new RTMP-In experience for Teams Live Events. However, Microsoft is now offering customers the option to roll back to an earlier version of Teams Live Events that allows guest users to join on the web. This option comes with the caveat that several new Teams Live Events capabilities will be lost, including the multi-window experience for attendees and video on demand for Teams encoder events. It is recommended that organizations only choose to roll back if guest users joining on the web is essential for their operations. Note that the support for this rollback will be available until the end of June 2024. If you would like to roll back your Teams Live Events version, you can raise a support case and include your tenant ID. However, it is important to keep in mind that stream external encoder support, or RTMP-In, will be deprecated in the future. Check the Roadmap ID 84960 and MC513601 for more information.
