Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on Mac is retiring support of Catalina (10.15)

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is retiring support for macOS version Catalina (10.15) on December 15, 2022, due to Apple ending support for Catalina in December 2021. This change will affect only organizations with macOS devices in their environments running macOS version Catalina (10.15). It is recommended for those organizations to review the version of macOS devices in their environment and update any macOS devices still running macOS version Catalina 10.15 to a newer macOS version before December 15, 2022. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on Mac currently supports macOS versions Ventura (13), Monterey (12), and Big Sur (11). After December 15, 2022, any macOS Catalina machine running Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (Mac) will remain protected but fail to update, with an error being logged in /Library/Logs/Microsoft/autoupdate.log. To avoid losing protection, organizations must ensure that all macOS devices in their environment run a macOS version newer than macOS Catalina. Keep monitoring the 'What's new on Mac' page for incremental changes across versions of MDE (Mac) by referring to the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on Mac public documentation for system requirements.
