Microsoft Teams: Organizers can manage access to meeting transcripts, recordings, AI-generated recap, and Copilot

Microsoft Teams is giving meeting organizers more control over the access to meeting transcripts, recordings, AI-generated recaps, and Copilot. This feature will be rolled out in June 2024, with customizable settings accessible under the 'Recording and transcript' tab. The default setting is 'Everyone', but options include access for organizers only or specific individuals. Meeting organizers can now decide who can access a particular meeting recording or transcript according to the choices made under this new feature.

This new feature will be a meeting option found on the 'Recording and transcript' tab. It is available to users with a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license, and it will be available by default. If you want to change the default option, you can do so before the meeting starts. Any changes made during the meeting will apply to the next instance of the meeting. While this feature will rollout automatically for all users, it's recommended that organizations notify their users and update relevant documentation as needed.
