Restricted Access Control for SharePoint and OneDrive Sites

Restricted Access Control for SharePoint and OneDrive Sites

SharePoint Administrators can now employ a new advanced capability to restrict SharePoint and OneDrive sites to specified users. Access to a site can be limited to users included in Microsoft 365 groups or AAD security groups, users not added to the groups will not be allowed to access the site even if they had been previously granted access. This new feature is available via SharePoint Admin Center or SharePoint Management Module and is associated with Microsoft Roadmap ID 163991. By leveraging this advanced capability, SharePoint administrators can reduce the risks associated with oversharing or permission sprawl within their organizations.

For organizations utilizing SharePoint, this feature provides an effective tool to limit access and maintain control over site sharing, ensuring that only relevant parties can access the sites they need to in order to do their jobs. No preparation is required for the roll-out of this feature. For more information on the feature, refer to the provided documentation.
