Microsoft Teams: Group Chat Invitations From Unmanaged Users

Microsoft Teams: Group Chat Invitations From Unmanaged Users

Microsoft Teams is rolling out a new feature related to external access. Users receiving group chat invitations from an unmanaged Teams user will be prompted with the option to acknowledge or leave the group chat. This feature is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 95051 and will be rolled out from early October to November. There are no admin controls related to this feature. If external access with unmanaged Teams users is enabled, users can choose to acknowledge the invitation or leave the group chat by using the invitation screen. Users will continue to have the option to block and unblock external unmanaged Teams users. If external access with unmanaged Teams users is disabled or if incoming chats from unmanaged Teams users are disabled, users will not see this update. Admins should consider notifying their users of this update and visit the page for more information regarding external access settings with unmanaged Teams users.
