Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Protect files on remote / mapped network devices
Microsoft Purview now offers a new capability that enables organizations to protect sensitive content on remote or mapped network drives using the Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention tool. This tool comes with the same level of protection as files stored on a mounted hard drive, ensuring that sensitive information remains secure. This feature is set to be released in October CY2023, and will be available on the web cloud instance GCC, DoD, and GCC High. With this added capability, organizations can rest easy knowing that their data is safeguarded, regardless of where it is stored.
