Reminder: Private Unlisted Groups Deprecated in Yammer – 1 Day Warning
Heads up! Yammer's private unlisted groups will be retired on December 1, 2022. The announcement regarding the deprecation of this feature was released on September 1, 2022 (MC424414), and as part of the upgrade of Non-Native and Hybrid Yammer Networks, the change is set to come into effect soon. This blog post offers more information on the retirement of unlisted groups, as well as the deprecation of two other features slated to take effect on the same date.
After December 1, 2022, private unlisted groups will no longer be supported in your Yammer network, and users will not be able to create new unlisted groups or use any previously existing ones. It is recommended that users remove these groups or convert them to either private or public groups that are listed and can be connected with M365. You can learn more about this change in the Microsoft Native Mode Troubleshooting FAQ or file an exception by contacting support if December 1, 2022, is not acceptable for the retirement of your network's secret groups.
If you're a group owner, we recommend that you communicate and coordinate with your team to prepare for this change and avoid any disruption to your operations. For more information regarding this matter, please refer to the Additional Information section. Remember, the retirement of private unlisted groups in Yammer takes effect the day after this reminder has been posted.
