Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Teams: Update on new Microsoft Lists rollout

Microsoft is rolling out new features for Microsoft Lists in SharePoint and Teams starting in late September 2024, including direct image pasting, real-time collaboration visibility, tabbed view switching and ratings. The new rollout does not require admin action to prepare. The features are already available in some versions as of the May 2023 blog. All new and updated List features will be on by default, while other Lists solutions are being updated progressively. Existing lists configured with Power Apps forms, SharePoint Framework (SPFx) command extensions, and Approvals components will be updated after the rollout. The SharePoint Framework (SPFx) field customizers and Playlist template integrated with Microsoft Stream are not included. Users can expect to see the remaining Lists feature updates described in the May 2023 blog when browsing lists on SharePoint sites, the Lists progressive web app (PWA), the Lists app on the web, and the Lists app in Teams.

Overall, the new Microsoft Lists update will help streamline the process of managing and viewing shared data, while minimizing admin effort. If you're a Microsoft SharePoint or Teams user, keep an eye out for these changes as they roll out starting in late September 2024.
