Microsoft 365 admin center multifactor authentication enforcement
Microsoft 365 is boosting its cybersecurity measures by mandating multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all Microsoft 365 admin center users beginning February 3rd, 2025. This move will significantly reduce the risk of account compromise by adding an extra layer of protection beyond standard username and password authentication. Users and global admins must set up MFA, verify methods, or apply to postpone the enforcement date. The requirement will be rolled out in phases at the tenant level over the coming weeks. It's essential to set up MFA by the deadline to prevent unauthorized access and safeguard sensitive data. Users who need to set up MFA can visit aka.ms/mfasetup, while global admins can refer to the MFA setup guide at aka.ms/MFAWizard or Set up multifactor authentication for Microsoft 365. If you won't be ready for the MFA requirement by February 3rd, 2025, you can apply to postpone the enforcement date.
