Microsoft Teams: Multiple camera view for Teams Rooms on Windows

Microsoft Teams: Multiple camera view for Teams Rooms on Windows

In an upcoming update, Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows will allow up to four USB camera feeds to be transmitted simultaneously. This feature will enable remote participants to view all cameras at once, thus improving visibility and coverage for complex spaces such as multipurpose rooms, executive boardrooms, and classrooms. The feature can be enabled by administrators through device settings or through the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management portal. With multiple camera view enabled, remote participants can follow all the action in the room and manually switch to the desired view. In addition, in-room participants can disable the feature during the meeting, and the device will revert to the admin settings for the next meeting. The feature will roll-out on a global scale starting mid-September 2024, and documentation updates will follow before launch.

Overall, this new feature will enhance the ability to communicate remotely while still feeling like you are in the room with colleagues and clients, allowing for more natural and effective collaboration.
