Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android – New touch and collaboration experiences

Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android is set to introduce new touch and collaboration experiences that promise to revolutionize the way we interact in meetings. The new 4K display support is set to further enhance your meeting experience on large screen devices, while the ability to control the room system both from the Front of Room touch display and the touch console will add an extra layer of convenience. To enjoy these features, make sure to enable the “Enable touch controls'' and “Allow initiative Whiteboard” settings on your device respectively.

The new one-touch Whiteboard icon on the home screen will make it easier for you to start collaborating outside of a Teams meeting, providing a seamless transition from local to online collaboration. You'll also be able to see incoming chat messages during a meeting if joining from a Teams Rooms device, increasing inclusiveness. Remote meeting participants will have access to the PTZ Camera Controls app, which allows control of the zoom and orientation of a Teams Rooms camera directly from their desktop during the meeting, provided that the Far end camera control policy is enabled on the resource accounts.

The latest update will be generally available from December CY2022 and can be accessed from platforms such as Android, as well as cloud instances such as GCC, Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant).
