Microsoft 365 app: Microsoft Loop – New personal Loop workspace

The Microsoft Loop app is bringing a new personal workspace to its users, which will function as a user-owned SharePoint container, and will have governance and compliance comparable to OneDrive. The Ideas workspace will become a shared Loop workspace, and the rollout of the new personal workspace begins in mid-December 2024 and concludes in late January 2025. There is no need for preparation action, but workspace creation can be disabled through admin policies. The Loop app will now provide each user with a personal workspace shared with Copilot Pages. The personal workspace is a user-owned SharePoint Embedded container, one for each user, and governance, lifecycle management, and compliance procedures are similar to that user's OneDrive. The current Ideas workspace will become a shared Loop workspace because it is not a user-owned container. If you wish to disable the creation of Loop workspaces, the admin policies can be configured. The changes will be implemented automatically in the tenant without any action required, and will come into effect worldwide between mid-December 2024 and late January 2025.
