Cross-tenant synchronization (preview)

The introduction of cross-tenant synchronization allows for automated creation of user accounts across tenants in an organization, removing the need for user replication across multiple tenants. Users created via the synchronization process can continue to authenticate in the same way they do on their primary tenant. Each application can assign conditional access policies as appropriate, allowing for access to Microsoft applications like Teams and SharePoint, and non-Microsoft applications like Adobe and ServiceNow. Azure AD B2B functionality underpins this process, including its security and governance capabilities such as conditional access, cross-tenant access settings, and entitlement management. The feature is slated for preview release from mid-January 2023, with full release anticipated by early-February 2023. Once in public preview, organizations can choose when and how to enable cross-tenant synchronization.
