Microsoft Teams: Federated Group Calling

In an effort to expand collaboration, Microsoft Teams is set to gain the capability of federated group calls, enabling users to initiate calls with federated colleagues outside their organization. The feature comes with video support and screen sharing over an internet connection, avoiding the need for any PSTN usage charges. The rollout for this capability is expected to commence in early January 2023 and complete by mid-January of the same year. Users will be able to initiate calls within the chat that includes federated users. However, admins will need to activate federation for the tenant to allow collaborating with people outside the organization.
