Whiteboard: “Specific people” Share Link Fallback
Microsoft Whiteboard has taken a step forward in resolving issues experienced by participants in Teams meetings when trying to share a whiteboard with the aid of Specific People Share Links (PSLs). This will apply when the tenant has disabled Company-wide Share Links (CSL). The rollout will commence in mid-October and be concluded by the end of October 2023.
Participants of a Teams meeting using Whiteboard were previously unable to join in collaborative whiteboard sessions when CSLs were disabled. However, Whiteboard has now adopted PSLs as fallbacks for participants when tenanted CSLs are inactive. As a result, users can access and collaborate on whiteboards during and after the meeting.
Note that subsequent participants who join an annotation session after the whiteboard has already been shared will require manual sharing. Additionally, PSL fallback will only apply to in-tenant users and not external users. This change will happen automatically, and therefore, no preparation is necessary.
