Custom Backgrounds for Announcement Posts in Channels
Microsoft Teams users can now create custom backgrounds for their Announcement posts using Microsoft Designer's generative AI. This feature is currently available for Channels 2.0 in English-US markets and will be rolling out across Microsoft Teams Desktop and Web. However, the feature is disabled for EDU tenants as the team implements a policy setting. Previously in Channels 1.0, users faced difficulties in finding the right images that worked well with banner sizing. But, with the generative AI power of Microsoft Designer, users can create engaging backgrounds for their announcement posts with just a few clicks. The Designer Mini Dialog, accessible via the entry point icon in the announcement, is where users can write a description, upload an image, or use provided examples to start creating their background. Once a background is selected, users have the option to further customize it using the Microsoft Designer App. This release is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 123501, and it is expected to complete its rollout by mid-January for GCC High/DoD users.
