Microsoft Purview |Communication Compliance: Customize policies with language-specific trainable classifier conditions

Microsoft Purview has introduced a new feature - Language-specific trainable classifiers - to tailor compliance policies for more precise communication compliance. The feature starts rolling out in December 2024 for Public Preview and January 2025 for General Availability and no admin action is required before the rollout. By selecting specific languages for the trainable classifiers, organizations can update existing policies for more precise compliance and ensure unwanted matches are reduced. The rollout will happen automatically by the specified date and the feature will be available by default.

To customize their compliance policies using specific languages, users can select the Choose Languages option in the Trainable classifier side panel in the Purview compliance portal. This new feature brings precision to compliance approaches and helps organizations to adopt a language-specific compliance strategy. Organizations may want to review their configuration and update relevant documentation to ensure they are prepared for the rollout.
