Insert Links/URL support for Microsoft Whiteboard

Insert Links/URL support for Microsoft Whiteboard

The Microsoft Whiteboard is all set to get an upgrade in its functionality with the addition of the ability to insert links with rich preview. This upcoming feature will be rolled out to Whiteboard web, Teams, and Windows App experiences by early October 2022 and the rollout is expected to be completed by mid/late October 2022. The post explains that this feature can be controlled by an optional connected experiences policy, that determines whether users can access this functionality. However, the policy presently only applies to two capabilities, and no action is required from the users to prepare for this upcoming feature.

To disable the Insert Links functionality, the Office cloud policy service in the Microsoft 365 Apps admin center can be used. Details on how to use the service are provided in the post, and they include creating a new policy configuration or editing an existing one and making changes to the configuration settings. The post mentions that any changes made to the configurations may take up to 90 days to be reflected.

The post on M365 Admin provides the necessary details to stay informed about and prepare for the upcoming feature.
