Microsoft Viva Engage: Create posts, communities, etc. with the new centralized “Create new” button

The new "Create new" button in Microsoft Viva Engage is set to revolutionize the way users create and manage content in the application. With this feature, users will be able to create posts, communities, events, and campaigns from one central location, simplifying the content creation process based on their permissions and licenses.

The "Create new" button will be available in Viva Engage for Windows desktop, Viva Engage for the web, as well as in the Viva Engage app in Microsoft Outlook for Windows desktop and iOS/Android and Microsoft Teams for Windows desktop and iOS/Android. This new feature promises to ease the creation process for users and enable them to discover various creation options available to them.

This feature will be on by default, requiring no admin action, and will be available from early October 2024. Users will be able to create only those content types they were licensed to create before the rollout. However, the "Create new" button will show users only those creation options available to them based on their existing licenses and permissions.

The "Create new" button is located in the top left area of the Engage app (below the user's own profile), and it will always be visible to users as they navigate through different pages in the application. With this new feature, users with all permissions and a Viva Engage premium license will be able to create a new post (discussion, question, praise, poll, article), community event, campaign, or other content type that they are licensed for.

In conclusion, the "Create new" button in Microsoft Viva Engage is a significant leap in content creation and will be a game-changer for users who need to create and manage multiple content types with ease.
