Offline mode in OneDrive for Web
OneDrive for web is set to become even more useful with the upcoming "Offline mode" feature. Soon, users will be able to continue working on the OneDrive web app, Microsoft Teams, or OneDrive PWA even when they're offline. With Offline mode enabled, users can view, rename, move, copy files, and create new folders offline. Changes made in offline mode will be automatically synced back to OneDrive once the user regains internet connection, and administrators will have the ability to control various aspects of Offline mode using Group Policies. During the first setup of Offline mode, a copy of the user's file metadata is securely stored locally on their device, and a secure local web server handles file operations, eliminating network bottlenecks. This feature will soon be available on Windows and macOS devices running the OneDrive sync app, significantly enhancing the user experience and productivity.
