Microsoft Teams Rooms: Zero-touch provisioning of new rooms on Windows devices
The latest update to Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows devices introduces zero-touch provisioning, promising to simplify the process of remotely deploying and recovering new Teams Rooms on Windows devices, all while enhancing security and compliance. The feature combines Windows Autopilot through Intune and Auto-sign, and eliminates the need for physical intervention during the enrollment and configuration of devices. Beginning in April 2024, Microsoft will roll out this update worldwide, which will require a Teams Rooms Pro license.
This change, outlined in Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 380724, will help organizations reduce the complexity involved in deploying new Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows devices and ensure heightened security and compliance. Users can expect a more streamlined experience and effective management of their Teams Rooms with no physical involvement necessary.
No action required to prepare for the implementation of the zero-touch provisioning feature. However, it is recommended that organizations notify their users of the change and update documentation accordingly. Provided you have a Teams Rooms Pro license, you can assign credentials to your device account for a smooth and seamless process.
