Microsoft Purview | Data Loss Prevention: Trigger Power Automate workflows after DLP rule match
Microsoft Purview is bringing an exciting new feature to the table: Data Loss Prevention (DLP). This feature allows for greater management flexibility and workflow customization by integrating with Microsoft Power Automate. With the new capability provided by DLP integration, users will be able to trigger custom workflows as a DLP policy action. This capability is expected to begin rolling out in late November 2024 and completed by early December 2024. As for General Availability Worldwide, the roll out is set to begin in late January 2025 and completed by early February 2025.
This feature will benefit DLP admins in the sense that it allows them to execute custom workflows created in Power Automate when a DLP policy is violated. To prepare for this feature there is no need for action. However, you may consider updating training materials for your Data Loss Prevention administrators to evaluate using this new feature. The post introduces the steps required to use the Power Automate integration with DLP, and explains how to add the action to a DLP rule.
Overall, this new capability empowers teams to be more efficient and delivers a unified workflow for data loss prevention.
