Microsoft SharePoint: News template updates
Microsoft SharePoint is simplifying its News templates and adding default email sharing support to the templates. The updates will roll out in mid-to-late August 2024 without requiring admin action, although documentation updates may be necessary for users. After the update, users will be able to share SharePoint News posts as fully rendered emails rather than just links, and all News post templates will support email sharing by default. The changes to the user experience when creating News suggest that organizations should consider whether they need to update documentation or instructions for News authors.
This update will be accessible to all SharePoint authors by default and requires no admin action before its rollout. Users will no longer need to select a specific email-ready category when creating a new News post, and all News post templates will be grouped. The images included in the post illustrate the changes that users can expect to see after the update.
