Microsoft SharePoint: Updates to font management capabilities

Microsoft SharePoint is set to roll out updates to its font management capabilities, enabling greater customization options for Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Viva Connections. These updates include the ability to hide "From Microsoft" font packages and apply fonts in site templates. New PowerShell commands and site script actions for font management will also be made available. The rollout is scheduled to begin in mid-October 2024 for Targeted Release and early November 2024 for General Availability. No admin action is required before the rollout.

These updates aim to enhance the capabilities for managing custom fonts, and their availability, and will include changes that allow eligible tenants to discover custom font features without activating the SharePoint brand center. Additionally, tenants that are currently using the Organization Assets Library with a Public CDN will see fonts and "From Microsoft" font packages in Change the look without any additional actions.
