Public Preview: Microsoft Entra ID FIDO2 provisioning APIs

Microsoft Entra ID has introduced FIDO2 provisioning APIs in public preview that make it easier to onboard users by pre-provisioning security keys, ensuring secure and phishing-resistant authentication. The rollout is set to begin in mid-September 2024 and is expected to be completed by late September 2024. With the FIDO2 provisioning APIs, admins will be able to pre-provision security keys for users, simplifying the user onboarding process and providing secure authentication from day one. This will be enabled through the authentication method policy and will not require any admin action during the automatic rollout. More information on how to use this feature can be found in the article "Enable passkeys (FIDO2) for your organization" linked in the post.
