Prepare for passkeys in Entra ID!
In a few months, Microsoft Entra ID will be introducing device-bound passkeys as an authentication method in preview, which will be stored on computers and mobile devices. This will be in addition to the existing support for FIDO2 security keys. Utilizing the devices that users already have, device-bound passkeys provide phishing-resistant authentication. The concept of a device-bound passkey may be new to some readers, but it allows a private key to be created on a user’s device which is used for authentication.
