CrowdStrike issue impacting Windows endpoints causing an error message on a blue screen

Windows endpoints running the CrowdStrike Falcon agent may encounter an error message on a blue screen, leading to a continual restarting state. Microsoft has identified this issue, and reports successful recovery after multiple restart operations. To mitigate this issue, users can start Windows in Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment, navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory, locate the file matching "C-00000291*.sys", and delete it before restarting the device. Note that recovery of systems requires a Bitlocker key in some cases. If you are running Windows Virtual Machines on Azure, follow the mitigation steps in Azure status. Additional details are available from CrowdStrike in their blog post, Statement on Windows Sensor Update.
