Windows 11 2023 Update available

The Windows 11 2023 Update, also known as Windows 11, version 23H2, has been released and is now available through various channels. This is the second feature update for Windows 11 and includes a set of new enhancements to the Start menu, taskbar, and chat experience. Microsoft Teams is now a free feature within the update. We recommend a targeted deployment to ensure that your infrastructure, devices, and apps work as expected with this new version.

The update is available today for commercial organizations through familiar channels, such as Windows Server Update Services, Windows Update for Business, and the Volume Licensing Service Center, as well as for Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop and via Visual Studio Subscriptions. The Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 11, version 23H2, are serviced for 36 months starting from October 31, 2023.

You can use the same policy and management solutions used for the original versions of Windows 10 or 11 to deploy and prepare for version 23H2. The security baseline, administrative templates (ADMX), and Group Policy settings reference have all been updated for this new version. If your devices are already running Windows 11, version 22H2, you can use an enablement package for a quick and easy installation process, while Windows Update for Business, Microsoft Intune, or another preferred endpoint management solution can also be used to update your endpoints.
