Microsoft Purview | Information Protection: Message Recall for encrypted emails in Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Purview's Information Protection is set to launch Advanced Message Encryption with Message Recall for Microsoft Outlook, enabling users with a license for Microsoft 365 E5 or Microsoft Office 365 E5 to recall encrypted emails. Deploying in early October 2024, this update requires no action from admins. The recall feature will be available through Microsoft Outlook on Windows and Outlook on the web. Message Recall for cloud-based mailboxes and emails sent within an organization will be integrated with Information Protection's Advanced Message Encryption. This update is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 413431. For more information and documentation updates, visit the provided links.
Before this update, users with one of the specified licenses cannot recall encrypted email from their Sent folder. After this update, users will be able to recall encrypted messages from their Sent folder. This feature will be on by default for users with one of the specified licenses. Admins do not need to take any action before the rollout.
This update allows for increased information protection and security, and guides users towards more responsible data handling practices.
