Microsoft Purview | Information Protection: New out-of-the-box trainable classifiers with auto-labeling support

Microsoft Purview is introducing new out-of-the-box trainable classifiers that support auto-labeling in its Information Protection, Data Lifecycle Management, and Data Loss Prevention solutions. These classifiers offer enhanced sensitivity to categories such as healthcare, human resources, finance, operations, and more. They are pre-trained using a vast set of real-world samples to provide comprehensive coverage of common business functions. Along with broad categories, this update also includes granular classifiers that detect sensitive business and regulatory documents. Over 100+ sensitive content categories can be detected through these classifiers. North American region users can expect public preview rollout to begin in late August and complete by late September, while standard rollout for all regions will kick off in early October and conclude by the end of the month.

To prepare for these updates, users can utilize the data classification tools available in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. Further details regarding the scope of these updates can be expected once rollout commences.
